Carolyn received a Juris Doctor degree from the Loyola University School of Law, magna cum laude, and a Master of Laws degree from the Western New England School of Law in Estate Planning and Elder Law. She holds a Bachelor's degree in both Economics and English Literature from Binghamton University where she graduated with honors and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Carolyn has practiced in the pension arena for nearly thirty years, as Assistant Counsel to the New York State Retirement System, and beginning in 2007, as the founder of one of New York State's only law firms dedicated to the division of retirement assets in divorce, including the preparation of Qualified Domestic Relations Orders, "bullet proof" settlement agreements for attorneys, assistance with retirement asset discovery and valuation. She has been a frequent presenter at Continuing Legal Education seminars at the local, state and on nationally broadcast webinars. Carolyn is a former president of the Rensselaer County Bar Association and a member of the New York State Bar Association, Family Law and Estate Planning sections. Carolyn is a former recipient of the Barry A. Gold Law Firm Leadership Award, given by the Legal Project of the Women's Bar Association to attorneys for outstanding pro-bono service. In her spare time, she is an avid quilter and knitter.
